Welcome to the official blog of Desert Rose Comprehensive Dentistry and Dr. Austin Barker! We’re pleased to begin using this space to share tips, tricks, and oral hygiene hacks to help keep your smile looking and feeling its best!
About Dr. Barker
While our entire team plays an integral role in giving you a five-star dental experience, we are pleased to be led by our skilled and caring dentist, Dr. Barker. Hailing from St. George, UT, he earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his dental degree at the University of Utah School of Dentistry.
A huge proponent of lifelong learning, Dr. Barker stays current on all things oral health by taking regular courses in a variety of dental topics including implant dentistry, Invisalign, and dental sedation. He is also a proud, active member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry and is fluent in both English and Spanish!
Why the Desert Rose?
In addition to paying homage to Dr. Barker’s roots, the desert rose is an important symbol that signifies resilience and strength under the harshest of conditions. Imagine something so beautiful coming from such challenging circumstances! The same can be said about oral health- after all, with all those bad bacteria, sugars, and acids attacking your teeth and gums, there’s plenty of reasons why your smile could suffer, but despite everything it has to overcome, you can still have a healthy, beautiful smile if you take proper care of it!

We are pleased to offer a full suite of preventive, restorative, and cosmetic treatments. We even offer same-day emergency appointments, and several sedation options to help make your visit more pleasant, too!
